The Problem
Approximately 750,000 couples divorce each year in the United States. Each faces the most consequential financial negotiation of their lives -- dividing assets, calculating support, and projecting post-divorce trajectories -- with almost no quantitative tools available. Most settle based on gut feeling, leaving tens of thousands of dollars on the table.
Our Approach
We implement the actual formulas used by courts in all 50 states: equitable distribution factors, income shares child support models, and alimony guideline calculations. On top of this, we run 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations to model each party's financial trajectory over 5-30 years, incorporating income growth, investment returns, real estate appreciation, remarriage probability, and Social Security benefits.
